Crumpton Massie Technologies, LLC integrates emerging technologies with national security objectives, focusing primarily on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). We also provide expeditionary energy and communications systems, and enhanced training platforms for special mission units. We leverage uncommon leadership experience in the UAS space to make UAS technology and personnel mission-ready for military, intelligence, law enforcement and border protection applications.
Advisory Services
CMT offers a platform – facilities and expertise – for research, development, testing, evaluation, training and air-ground integration. We have provided testing and evaluation services for a micro-UAS client and for a portable solar energy station, which powers communications and UAS in distressed and wartime environments. CMT provided critical input in New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT)’s design and construction of a "hyper-realistic" Near East/South Asian village and marketplace complex, which serves as a pre-deployment training site for special mission units.
Partnerships
CMT maintains a strategic partnership with NMT’s Playas Training and Research Center (PTRC), which holds two FAA Certificates of Authorization (COA) for UAS. PTRC’s 640 acres afford the largest urban training facility in the U.S., with an explosives-controlled firing area, square ranges and robust IT infrastructure.
Facilities and Resources
CMT’s location in southwest New Mexico boasts world-class flying conditions and more than 10,000 square miles of available airspace, including designated Restricted Airspace at NMT’s Magdalena Ridge. The Ridge offers unique opportunities for testing and evaluation of UAS, particularly smaller systems, with elevations of 10,000 feet among forested terrain and very short notice required for flight approvals. CMT clients also have access to more than 350,000 acres of varied rural terrain for test and evaluation, a 4865-foot airstrip and office space.
Leadership
CMT Chairman Ambassador Henry Crumpton and CMT President Mr. John Massie pioneered the use of UAS for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and armed operations in Afghanistan after 9/11.
